Blue Team Con 2026
Call for Trainings

We’re excited that you’re interested in delivering a class at our conference this year!

Blue Team Con will take place at The Swissôtel Chicago in Chicago, IL on September 10-13, 2026. Individual trainings will be held on September 10th and 11th.

Read all the information on this page before submitting the form Linked at the bottom of this page.

Call for Trainings opens on March 9th.
All submissions must be received by 11:59PM CDT on April 20, 2026.

CFT Review Process

The CFT review process will be performed in two phases: a blind phase and rating, followed by an adjusted rating based on the instructors to ensure that content stands on its own merit, but is presented by a qualified instructor.

Whilst we collect biographical and demographic information about the trainers, this will not be used in any way during the selection process; we will be selecting trainings based on the value they would bring to our attendees and the training facilities available in our 2026 venue. In the second review round, Speaker Biography will be shared with the reviewers, but other demographics will not.

All submitted trainings must take place over two eight-hour days.

We plan to accept between five and seven trainings for 2026.

Trainer Benefits

Any accepted trainers who attend and train at Blue Team Con receive:

  • A free ticket to the entire conference.
  • A group dinner invite if present on the evening of September 11th.
  • Revenue from training tickets above the venue fee (see Agreement Point 7 below).

CFT Submission Agreements

Please be aware that by submitting a CFT and being accepted, you agree to the following:

  1. The submitter(s) will review and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Trainers will adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times whilst delivering the training.
  2. Trainers will show up (in-person) on time and give your training on your assigned training date(s) (September 10th and 11th 2026). (Except in the event of understandable, unforeseen circumstances.)
  3. Any content submitted is wholly owned by the submitting party and Blue Team Con asserts no ownership of the content.
  4. If selected, trainers will submit a headshot photograph (or acceptable avatar) that can be posted on the Blue Team Con website and in the printed program. This is optional in the CFT form but mandatory if selected.
  5. Students may potentially take pictures of you and your slides, unless expressly stated otherwise at the start of the presentation.
  6. If selected, trainers will join the official Blue Team Con Discord in order to maintain awareness of all official notifications.
  7. The trainers will be responsible for a venue fee, but may set the price for their training. Blue Team Con will manage training ticket sales; any proceeds above the venue fee will be paid to the trainer(s), minus a percentage to cover conference costs. Such financial arrangements will be discussed only when a training has been accepted as a candidate for delivery at the conference.
  8. You will respond by the specified deadline to the acceptance email with all asks of accepted trainers (e.g., ticket picked up, Discord joined, training agreement signed, headshot (or avatar) sent, etc.) You are not confirmed as a trainer until these tasks are complete.
  9. You will bring your own presenting hardware (e.g., laptop) to present your talk. Students will be expected to bring their own laptop but any specialist hardware will need to be provided by the trainer with the costs factored in to the class fee. Blue Team Con will provide projectors, screens, and an HDMI connection. You will identify any additional hardware requirements in the space provided in your submission.
  10. If selected, any handout materials will be due to Blue Team Con by August 17th to ensure that trainees have the required materials in advance of training.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

Calculate Your Training Profit

In an effort to be fully transparent about our fee structure and allow trainers to get an idea of what they can expect, we’ve developed a calculator that incorporates the fixed and variable costs associated with holding a training at Blue Team Con.

While this calculator reflects our current costs, it is intended for estimation purposes only. Trainers are free to set the price as they wish, but they’re reminded to consider the content and market demand when doing so. Chosen trainers will be required to sign a training agreement, which will include all final costs.

Please note, Blue Team Con does not provide travel or lodging for trainers – please keep this in mind when setting the price for your training.

  • Unlike previous years, BTC will be covering transaction fees in 2026 in an effort to simplify training cost calculation for instructors.
  • Room Fee – A flat fee of $500 ($250 per day) to reserve the training room
  • Incidentals – Covers costs BTC incurs to host and run training, and are per-attendee. These include things like meals for the trainer and trainees. Please note these are fixed costs, based on venue and catering requirements. This is $100 per student ($50 per day).
  • BTC Cut – This amount is reinvested in the conference to help offset the costs of running the conference and trainings. This 25% fee applies to the first 15 tickets sold for each training; no portion is taken from tickets 16 and beyond. Training rooms in the venue have a maximum capacity of 25 students.
