Introducing a password manager and policy

Implementing a password policy and password manager at an organization is a challenge that winds up touching every aspect of a business. There can be entrenched processes, kingdoms, and assumptions that will have to be addressed every step of the way.

In this presentation I will talk through some of the tribulations that I experienced through this step on the security modernization process and share the lessons I learned and things I wish I had known. It will also cover important considerations when looking at various vendors, determining requirements, and how to talk about modernization to company leadership.

Along the way there will be unexpected complexity and challenges requiring technical, procedural, and political skills. There is a lot to be gained but a lot of hurdles to be overcome.

It’s kind of like a role playing video game but the reward at the end is slightly better sleep.
