The personal information we collect is limited and is provided by prospective speakers, staff members, and attendees to the Blue Team Con conference. Personal data is used for purposes of registering you with the conference, which is coordinated via a third-party platform partner (“Platform Partner”), tracking staff members, and publicizing speaker profiles for accepted speakers.
We do not use outside sources to collect additional information about participants and your data is not provided/sold to any sponsor or third-party organization with the exception of our Platform Partner. We will only contact you for legitimate business purposes related to your participation in the conference.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering as a speaker or attendee for our conference. This registration helps facilitate your participation in the conference.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your registration for the conference. The personal information we collect can include the following:
All Participants
First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and if provided, your Job Title and Employer. We collect this information for purposes of identifying you for your registration with the conference whether as a speaker or an attendee.
Our Platform Partner may collect additional information, such as payment and billing information. However, we do not have access or control over that data.
Speakers/Prospective Speakers
Biography. We collect a short biography from you to be published on our Site with your name, company, and title information collectively as your speaker profile if your talk is accepted. This profile will be visible to Site visitors as a way to establish speaker identities and credibility in advance of the conference.
If we are mailing a speaker gift and/or payment, we will also need to collect a mailing address provided by each speaker.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information – such as IP address and/or browser and device characteristics – is collected automatically when you visit our Site.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate our websites. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our websites, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our websites, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

The only information we will collect about you is the information specifically described above that you supply to us when you register to attend or potentially be a speaker at the conference.

In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use personal information collected via our Site for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests (“Business Purposes”), in order to enter into or perform a contract with you (“Contractual”), with your consent (“Consent”), and/or for compliance with our legal obligations (“Legal Reasons”). We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.
We use the information we collect or receive:
- To facilitate account creation with your Consent. Everyone who registers to attend or speak at Blue Team Con will be registered with our Partner Platform for the purpose of attending the conference.
- To send administrative information to you for Business Purposes, Legal Reasons and/or possibly Contractual. We may use your personal information to send you information about the conference. This information may include logistics for accessing the conference platform to attend the conference, conference scheduling information, speaker participation information, and conference recording locations after the conference is complete.
- Request Feedback for our Business Purposes and/or with your Consent. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your experience attending the conference after the conference has completed.
- To protect our Sites for Business Purposes and/or Legal Reasons. We may use your information as part of our efforts to keep our Sites safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).
- To enforce our terms, conditions and policies for Business Purposes, Legal Reasons and/or possibly Contractual.
- To respond to legal requests and prevent harm for Legal Reasons. If we receive a subpoena or other legal request, we may need to inspect the data we hold to determine how to respond.
- Specific to Job Title and Employer, we may share this information (with only generalities (e.g., “Number of C-Level Executives” or “Number of Architects” or “Number of Analysts” etc.) to prospective sponsors to inform them of the diversity of attendees. We will not share direct Job Title to Employer matched information in a way that could identify exactly who you are (e.g., “CISO for City of Chicago”)
- For other Business Purposes. We may use your information for other Business Purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Sites, products, services, marketing and your experience.
Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?
In Short: We only share personally identifiable information (PII) with your consent, to comply with laws, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.
We only share and disclose your PII in the following situations:

Your information from your registration will be used to create your user profile and for billing purposes on the Platform Partner’s systems to facilitate your attendance at the conference.

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. These cookies will be used only to facilitate functionality of the website itself and for analysis of website usage.

Our site is hosted by a third-party whose servers may be located in locations around the world. Since attendees may be located in any country, your information may be transferred to those countries.

Such measures implement the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information between our group companies and between us and our third-party providers, which require all such recipients to protect personal information that they process from the EEA in accordance with European data protection laws. No purpose in this policy will require us keeping your personal information for longer than 3 years following the last registration you’ve processed with us, excluding members of Blue Team Con Staff and former Speakers for the purpose of displaying historical record on our web-site and keeping historical records for archival purposes.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, some information may be retained in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use and/or comply with legal requirements.
